One of Kingston's swimming buddies turned 2 and celebrated by having a Train themed party!  I absolutely love it when girls choose cake designs that are traditionally "boy designs"!  In addition to the cake, I also made matching train cookies. Happy 2nd Birthday Evelyn!

Buttercream Peony

Today we celebrated my Mother In Law's birthday.  For her cake, I decided to make an all buttercream cake with a buttercream piped peony and gilded blackberries.  I really love how pretty this cake turned out.  I love the pop of the fuchsia pink against the white buttercream.  The cake was a eggless vanilla cake with Raspberry, Passion Fruit, and Lemon buttercream. Happy Birthday Madvi!

Safari Animals

One of Kingston's swimming buddies turned 2!  Hunter's mom asked for a safari themed cake.  She said he loved parrots, so the only condition was that the cake had to have a parrot on the cake.  I made safari animal figurine toppers with modelling chocolate and to bring focus onto the parrot, I had it perch on top of a stand up #2. Happy 2nd Birthday Hunter!

David Austen Rose

I love David Austen roses.  They have such a romantic quality to them.  This cake was made for a beautiful young woman celebrating her sweet 16.  We wanted the cake to have a rustic, pretty look and I think we successfully achieved that.  In addition to the cake, I also made a set of name cookies for the birthday girl. Happy Sweet 16 Sophia!

Wiggles and Maui

2018-09-26T22:37:57-05:00June 24th, 2018|Cakes|0 Comments

I can't believe my baby Kingston is 2!  These 2 years have flown by.  He is growing into such sweet bright boy and I'm soaking in every minute.  Kingston get's 2 cakes this year because not only do we throw him a party, but so does his daycare!  I decided to make the cakes in his two favourite things: The Wiggles and Moana (Maui). I wanted to make the Wiggles cake colourful and fun, and so I decided to make a drip cake with a multi coloured drip.  I added a rainbow topper and stand up #2 and also loaded the top

Tire Wedding

2018-09-26T22:37:08-05:00June 1st, 2018|Cakes|0 Comments

Emelie and Calvin are one of the sweetest couples I know!  Both being huge car enthusiasts, I thought the cake design they chose for their wedding was perfect.  The cake was a 1 tier cake designed to look like a racing tire.  I made a gumpaste floral arrangement to sit in the rim of the tire as a topper. Congratulations Emelie & Calvin!

Thanos

2018-09-26T22:49:15-05:00May 27th, 2018|Cakes|0 Comments

I can't believe Elliott is 6 years old.  The years have gone by too fast.  We recently went to watch the new Avengers movie and he loved the character Thanos.  I knew Thanos' gauntlet would make the perfect cake for him.  The gauntlet cake was carved into the shape of the gauntlet, covered with fondant and painted with a gold lustre dust.  The bottom tier was painted to look like the galaxy.  Elliott absolutely loved the cake! Happy 6th Birthday to my amazing boy Elliott!

Moana

I've been waiting for someone to ask me to make a Moana themed cake - Moana is one of my favourite Disney Princess movies!  I was finally asked by one of Kingston's daycare friends.  Lachlan loves all things Moana so we went with a Moana, Maui, Pua, and Hei Hei design on top with waves and palm tress around the sides of the cake.  The cake was a Rainbow cake with Vanilla Buttercream. In addition to the cake, I also made Maui hook cookies and Heart of Te Fiti cookies. Happy 3rd Birthday Lachlan!

Hatchimals

2018-03-10T13:08:12-05:00February 24th, 2018|Cakes|0 Comments

I've made many birthday cakes for a lovely little girl Caira.  I alway look forward to making her cakes because she always picks fun themes!  This year she did not disappoint with choosing a Hatchimals design.  If you do not know what Hatchimals are, they were the 2016 Christmas Toy must have.  They are these magical creatures that live in eggs until you help them hatch.  This cake was a Classic Chocolate Cake with Strawberry Buttercream.  Hatchimal toppers were made from fondant. Happy 7th Birthday Caira!

70th Birthday

2018-01-17T19:33:09-05:00December 9th, 2017|Cakes|0 Comments

This cake was made to celebrate a 70th Birthday highlighting all the different hobbies/interests that are dear to him.  I got details of his Ski Outfit, Motorcycle, and Bicycle so that I could replicate them as best I could with sugar paste.  I love how it turned out and am happy to say the recipient was floored!
