Coral Magnolias
This wedding cake is a design that I've done before. Only this time, the magnolia flowers were done in coral to match the wedding theme. I love how it turned out. The pop of colour from the coral magnolias worked out beautifully.

I love buttercream cakes. They have this beautiful rustic look to them. I was so thrilled when I was asked to make this textured buttercream wedding cake. This 4-tiered cake had two different flavours. Red Velvet with Vanilla buttercream and Vanilla with Strawberry, Blueberry, and Raspberry buttercream.
Elliott's favourite movie right now is Zootopia. We actually went to see it twice in the theatres. After watching the movie and reading numerous Zootopia books to him, I knew that it would make the perfect theme for his birthday party. Zootopia is actually the name of the city in which the majority of the movie takes place. I decided to decorate the sides of the cake to look like the city with modelling chocolate cut outs. I also made modelling chocolate toppers of the two main characters, Judy Hopps & Nick Wilde. The top tier was a Vegetarian Chocolate Cake with
A friend of ours was turning the big 4-0. His parents had asked us to help arrange a surprise party for him. Everyone knows a birthday party is not complete without a cake! Since he is a big bird enthusiast, I thought a cake in the shape of an owl would be the perfect design. I sculpted a 5" round cake in the shape of an owl, while the tree stump was a 6" round cake. Both cakes were Classic Chocolate Cake with Strawberry Buttercream. All decorations are made of fondant. Happy 40th Birthday Rich!
A coworker had asked me to make a birthday cake for her niece, Ava. One of Ava's most favourite activities is rock climbing. She also loves the pastel colours of Blue, Green, and Purple. I decided to make the cake to resemble a rock climbing wall with holds in her favourite colours. I also sculpted a modelling chocolate Ava figurine climbing up the cake to a #10 topper. Happy Birthday Ava!
This lumberjack cake was made for a good friend of mine who is an avid camper/outdoors person. Unfortunately, I was not able to get a picture of a cake slice, but there was a little surprise waiting inside. When cut, the cake had a plaid design! Happy 40th Birthday Brian!
I came to know of Shopkins through watching an unboxing YouTube video that Elliott stumbled upon. These little collectible figurines seem to be latest obsession of all girls in the age range of 4-10 so I was not surprised when I was asked to make this Wishes cake. This cake was a Classic Chocolate Cake with Vanilla Buttercream. All decorations were made out of fondant. Happy Birthday Bella!
This pretty cake was made for Elliott's former daycare provider. The flowers on top of the cake were made with fondant. The cake was a Classic Vanilla cake with alternating Raspberry and Cream Cheese buttercream. Happy Birthday Dawna!
Today is my mom's birthday. For her birthday, I made a Raspberry Charlotte. I wanted to put a little more effort into the cake though, so I decided to make the cake from scratch. This meant making the lady fingers instead of using store bought ones. I'm so glad I did. They turned out great and I had enough left over to make Tiramisu! In addition to the lady fingers, vanilla cream, and glazed raspberry topping, I also made a Raspberry Crèmeux layer. Happy Birthday Mom!
When I first began my journey in cake decorating, everything was about buttercream. Buttercream covered cakes, buttercream flowers, buttercream transfers.... In fact, in the very beginning, I was making only buttercream cakes. Then, I attended my first wedding cake class and was introduced to rolled fondant. I instantly fell in love with the versatility of fondant and the flawless perfect finish that could be achieved with it. In recent years though, there has been a resurgence in buttercream cakes and as I started seeing more and more buttercream cake designs, I began to appreciate the classic albeit imperfect look of them. Today we celebrate my
