I was asked to make a celebration cake and cupcakes for a 40th wedding anniversary.  I based the design of the cake on different design elements of the cupcakes to try to tie it all together.  The cake was a Lemon Poppy Seed cake with Lemon Buttercream and the cupcakes were Classic Vanilla with Chocolate, Mocha, and Vanilla Buttercream.
