Shimmer and Shine is a cartoon about two twin genies-in-training who grant wishes to their best friend everyday.  The wishes don’t always go as planned and so each episode is spent cleaning up the magical mess.  This Shimmer and Shine palace cake was made for a little girl turning 6.  The palace is made of Rice Krispie treats and then covered in fondant.  I used a strawberry flavoured ring pop for the jewel “bottle stopper”.  I love how this cake turned out -the ring pop gives the jewel the perfect amount of shine!  This cake is a Classic Vanilla Bean Cake with Hazelnut Praline buttercream.
