I was asked to make a Spiderman cake for a little girl turning 4.  I love that she asked for a superhero cake – who says a girl can’t have a superhero cake?  I decided to try to paint the webbing on Spiderman’s face instead of piping them with royal icing or using fondant.  I actually really like how it turned out.  I think the painted method makes for cleaner looking webbing.  This cake is a Classic Vanilla cake with Vanilla buttercream.
