Moana

I've been waiting for someone to ask me to make a Moana themed cake - Moana is one of my favourite Disney Princess movies!  I was finally asked by one of Kingston's daycare friends.  Lachlan loves all things Moana so we went with a Moana, Maui, Pua, and Hei Hei design on top with waves and palm tress around the sides of the cake.  The cake was a Rainbow cake with Vanilla Buttercream. In addition to the cake, I also made Maui hook cookies and Heart of Te Fiti cookies. Happy 3rd Birthday Lachlan!

Hearts and Peonies

This Valentine's Day I decided to make Peony Cupcakes and Heart Cookies.  I loosely mixed the colour into the buttercream to achieve a more natural colouring to the flowers.  The Heart Cookies were made from my Melt in Your Mouth Shortbread cookies and then decorated with royal icing.  I love how both of these turned out! Monogram Floral

These shortbread cookies were made to celebrate a colleague's retirement.  The floral designs were inspired by Rifle Paper Co coasters that I found online.  I added Monogram E cookies for personalization and painted the E's with gold lustre dust to make them pop.  I love how they turned out. Christmas Cookies

This Christmas was a busy one for cookies - I ended up making 3 different sets. For Kingston's daycare Christmas party, I made Elf cookies with chubby cheeks.  I painted the jingle bell with gold dust and brushed pink petal dust on their cheeks to give them that rosy glow. I made a White Christmas set that included Snowmen, Snowflakes, and Merry Christmas Plaques.  The Snowmen were painted and blended out with watered down blue food colouring to create the different sections. How time flies! I can't believe Kingston is 1 year old already! From the moment I found out that I was pregnant with another boy, I knew I wanted to decorate his nursery in a whale theme. When it was time to come up with a theme for his first birthday, I thought the whales theme would fit perfectly!  I started with his birthday invitation first.  I created the above HTML5 invitation in Tumult Hype3.
