My Little Pony, My Little Pony

Ahh, ahh, ahh, ahhh…

I loved My Little Pony as a little girl and was so happy to see them make a come back!  I find the next generation ponies much cuter with their big anime eyes!  I was asked to make a cake and some cookies for a My Little Pony/Skylanders party.  For the My Little Pony theme, I made a cake with a Rainbow Dash topper.  Rainbow Dash was sculpted out of modelling chocolate as was the rainbow.  The clouds are made out of fondant.  The cake is a Classic Chocolate Cake with Chocolate Buttercream and Vanilla Buttercream.

Now Skylanders is completely foreign to me.  I was first exposed to this video game from the birthday boy himself.  I’m still not exactly sure what the game is about, but I knew there were different elements for different characters that would be perfect for round cookies.  So for the Skylanders theme, I made my melt-in-your-mouth shortbread cookies decorated as Skylanders elements.
